Kansas athletes compile 3.0 GPA

By Staff Reports     Jun 17, 2015

More than half of Kansas University’s student-athletes on active rosters recorded a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, and 31 had a perfect 4.0 as the department recorded a combined GPA of 3.0 for the spring semester.

Soccer led the KU teams with a 3.40 GPA, followed by swimming and diving (3.35) and volleyball (3.26).

Football was the lowest at 2.71.

Fifty-six percent of Jayhawks on active rosters recorded a GAP of 3.0 or better.

“When you look at the department combined at 3.0 GPA, that’s awesome,” soccer coach Mark Francis said. “That reflects on the type of kids that all the sports are getting here, but also the academic support here is the best I’ve ever seen. There are a lot of resources being put into that area, and our advisors do a great job. Our kids are obviously taking advantage of those resources, and it has paid off this semester. I’m proud of them.”
