Kansas University senior Michael Stigler was named the Midwest Region’s Male Track Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross County Coaches Association announced Monday.

Stigler, a native of Canyon, Texas, won eight of nine 400-meter hurdles races in which he competed in 2015. He won his fourth straight Big 12 title, and his career-best time of 48.44 at the Texas Relays is the fastest in the NCAA this year and the best collegiate time in four years.

He is among the Jayhawks in Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
