Joven Afenir went 3-for-3, and Michael Tinsley was 2-for-2 with two RBIs in Kansas University’s 15-2 baseball victory over Chicago State on Thursday in the Snowbird Classic.

Hayden Edwards (1-1) earned the victory, allowing five hits in six scoreless innings.

“I’m seeing the ball really well right now,” Afenir said. “(Assistant coach) Ritchie Price worked with me on a few things in batting practice a few games ago and it is really working for me. It has been a big confidence booster.”

The teams agreed to end the game after eight innings because of rain.

The Jayhawks (3-5) face North Dakota State on Friday.
