KU women’s golf in fourth place

? Kansas University’s women’s golf team dropped a spot to a tie for fourth after two rounds of the Lady Paladin Invitational on Monday at the Furman University Golf Course.

KU’s Pornvipa Sakdee and Minami Levonowich are tied for 14th at 147, 9 back of leader Taylor Totland of Furman.

Kansas’ Yupaporn Kawinpakorn is tied for 20th at 148, Gabriella DiMarco is tied for 33rd at 150, and Michelle Woods and Mackenzie Thayer are tied for 72nd at 158.

? The Kansas University women’s golf team is tied for fourth place out of 16 teams after the second day of the Rio Verde Invitational on Saturday.

The Jayhawks’ team total of 297 is six strokes behind tournament leader Akron and tied with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Audrey Yowell led all KU golfers with a career-best 71, which placed her in a tie for 10th place among individuals. Katy Nugent posted a 76 for the second day in a row and is tied for 13th out of the 85 golfers at the tournament.

Nadia Luttner (tied-20th, second-round 73) and Thanuttra Boonraksasat (tied-23rd, second-round 77) are the only other Jayhawks in the tourney’s top 25.

Kansas will compete in the third and final round at Quail Run golf course, starting at 8 a.m. today.
