McLemore gives agent the boot

Former Kansas University men's basketball guard Ben McLemore of the Sacramento Kings, who fired his agent (Rodney Blackstock) a couple of weeks ago, has chosen Klutch Sports Group as his new representation, the Sacramento Bee reports. LeBron James is also represented by Klutch and its owner, Rich Paul.

“It was a man decision. Like I told all my family members, it was something I had to figure on my own and make a decision for myself,” McLemore told the Bee, referring to firing Blackstock, who received his certification right before the 2013 NBA Draft, in which St. Louis native McLemore was taken seventh.

“I tried to get everybody’s opinion. At the end of the day, it was my decision. I’m trying to move forward and focus on the season.”

The Kings recently picked up McLemore’s contract option for 2015-16 ($3,156,600 ). He’s making $3,026,280 this season.

Following the Kings and Warriors out here. Ben Mac had a nice game last night and Kings off to a 5-0 start. Ben was the post game interview. Glad to see he's moving along the right path.

PS Just learned that Tarik Black will start for the Rockets tonight. Dwight Howard is ill. Will be rooting for Warriors, but really hoping Black shows well.

2 pts off 1-3 shooting, 5 boards, and only 1 foul in 15 minutes. Went 0-2 from the line though. Not bad overall, glad to see he's getting some minutes. Ben had a rough start to the season, but has bounced back nicely the past 3 games. Morris twins looking good too!

Smart move by Ben. This Blackstock guy did his best to give Ben and KU a black eye with his underhanded dealings. I can't imagine how slimy many of these "agents" are.
