KU tennis wins eighth in a row

? Kansas University’s women’s tennis team outlasted Central Florida, 4-3, Friday. Maria Jose Cardona, Maria Belen Ludueña and Paulina Los earned the three singles victories for the Jayhawks. Kansas won two of the three doubles matches to take the deciding point.

Kansas University dropped the doubles point, but rallied to win five of six singles matches to defeat Drake, 5-2, in collegiate tennis on Sunday at Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Maria Jose Cardona, Maria Belen Ludueña, Paulina Los, Dylan Windom and Anastasija Trubica won for KU and Nos. 2-6 singles.

Los-Ludueña also won at No. 3 doubles, but Drake won the point.

Kansas (4-2 in duals) is scheduled to host UMKC on at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Jayhawk Tennis Center, but that match could be moved or canceled if expected winter weather hits.

Kansas University’s tennis team claimed a 4-3 victory over Denver in its season opener Friday at Jayhawk Tennis Center.

KU swept the three doubles matches, then won three singles matches: Maria Jose Cardona at No. 2, Paulia Los at No. 5 and Claire Dreyer at No. 6.

KU will host Saint Louis at noon Sunday.

? Kansas University’s tennis team remained undefeated in dual competition with a 5-2 victory over Montana on Sunday.

KU improved to 7-0.

? For the 31st straight time, the Kansas women’s tennis team defeated Iowa State. KU won, 5-2, at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center Saturday afternoon. KU is now 34-1 all-time vs. ISU.
