Kansas softball 1-1 at final day of tournament

? Kansas University softball concluded the Coach B Classic with a win and a loss on Sunday at Warner Park.

The Jayhawks (11-6) beat Miami (Ohio), 5-2, then fell to Murray State, 5-4 in eight innings.

Against Miami (4-7), Ashley Newman went 3-for-4 with a run, Harli Ridling went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, and Chanin Naudin was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Kelsey Kessler (7-3) picked up the win in reliever after starter Alicia Pille was tagged for two runs off three hits over just one inning. Pille yielded to Alex Jones (3 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs), then Kessler.

Murray State (8-7) plated three runs off Kessler (7-4) in the first inning and made the most of six timely hits.

Kansas will travel this weekend to the Under Armour Classic in Tampa, Fla.
