? Kansas University’s women’s tennis team fell to Wichita State, 6-1, on Thursday.

The Jayhawks’ lone point came from Smith Hinton at No. 4 singles. Hinton defeated Lucia Kovalova, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.

“I thought we put ourselves in some positive situations today, but we didn’t do a very good job of executing in the crucial situations,” KU coach Todd Chapman said. “We were 0-6 in 7-5 or 7-6 sets. On the road against a very good team, you can’t let those slip away.”
