Dixon, Vollmer lead KU track

? Kansas University’s Diamond Dixon and Lindsay Vollmer each earned a pair of victories for the KU women’s track and field team Saturday on the second and final day of the Holiday Inn Invitational.

Dixon won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.49 seconds and joined Alisha Keys, Whitney Adams and Rhavean King for first place in the 4×400 relay.

Vollmer set a personal best with a 8.45-second finish in the 60-meter hurdles. Vollmer was also a member of KU’s winning distance medley relay team with Nashia Baker, Lydia Saggau and Natalie Becker.

DeMario Johnson led the Kansas men’s track team with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash.

The Jayhawks’ men’s and women’s squads will return to Lawrence for their final home meet of the indoor season, the Jayhawk Classic, on Friday.
