Don’t expect Kansas University football coach Charlie Weis to spend any time on his phone texting his vote for which of three uniform combinations the Jayhawks will wear Sept. 6 in their home opener against Southeast Missouri State.

“I just want to win football games,” he said. “I really don’t care what we wear.”

While fans also want to see KU win, they can have a say in the attire. Three different pairings decorated the stage at a pep rally Friday in Prairie Village: a blue jersey with a white helmet, a gray jersey with a blue helmet and a blue jersey with a crimson helmet.

Weis knows which one he would bet on.

“My guess is the gray (jersey) will win, because it’s the only game we won (against) a Big 12 opponent last year,” he said, referring to a 2013 home win against West Virginia.

Will there ever be a "KU Look" in football? Probably not...

I think all the new uniform combinations are neat. Plus, the players and recruits love them. Fans--me included--have been begging for the Jayhawk to be put on the helmets for years. So explain to me exactly what the "KU look" would be? Don't just say blue helmet with KU on the side, blue jersey and gray or blue pants. Just because we wore that for the last several years doesn't make it a KU look. If you ask me, KU football has never really had a "look" like the basketball team has. I think the new uniforms bring a little added excitement to the players and fans, and right now, every little bit helps.

Red helmets, blue jersey, blue pants, yellow shoes. The Jayhawk

That grey is just fugly. I like the Angry Jay, but it needs to be on a blue hat. White hat is just boring. We have the best Blue in College sports, that should be the KU look! If you go to the Schutt helmet website they have a color called Kansas Blue. That should be our look!
