— Three Kansas University men’s golfers tied for seventh, and the Jayhawks placed fourth in the team standings after the final round of the Hawkeye Invitational on Sunday at Finkbine Golf Course.

Chase Hannah, Ben Welle and Connor Peck tied for seventh with a three-round total of 216, seven strokes behind winner Steve Ihm of Iowa.

“Our top-three guys played fairly well,” KU coach Jamie Bermel said. “Moving forward we need more help from the four and five man.”

Kansas’ Logan Philley shot 224 to tie for 26th, Ryley Haas tied for 56th at 235, and David Auer, competing as an individual, was 62nd at 237.

The Jayhawks will compete in the Big 12 Championships at Whispering Pines Country Club, April 25-27 in Trinity Texas
