KU rowing earns victories at Oak Ridge

— Kansas University’s rowing team picked up a score of victories against tough competition on Saturday at Louisville’s Cardinal Invitational.

The Jayhawks won all but one of their races against Alabama and Buffalo in the invitational’s afternoon session. KU’s Varsity Four, Second Varsity Four, Third Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight, Novice Eight and Second Novice Eight placed first, while the Varsity Eight took third.

In the morning races, Kansas’ Novice Eight, Second Novice Eight, Second Varsity Four and Third Varsity Four finished first against Notre Dame and Duke.

Kansas concludes the invitational today against Eastern Michigan and Dayton. The Jayhawks, who compete in Conference USA for rowing, will remain in Oak Ridge — site of the league championship — for training over spring break.
