The New Orleans team is now the "Pelicans." http://www.oregonlive.com/nba/index.ssf/2013/01/new_orleans_hornets_to_announc.html

I believe that will not be in effect until next season.

slow night for KUSports. I see why they chose last night for site maintenance.

I don't understand the issue with Gooden. It seemed that he was the 2nd best Jayhawk in the Association last year. Very consistent with his points, rebounds, and effort. And now he never plays.

I supported Selby and Henry 100% during both of their 1 year stays in Lawrence. Like many, I questioned both decisions to leave early and so far (as predicted) it has been a flop for both. Another year or two in college couldn't have hurt either one of them. I'm not asking a question that hasn't been asked a million times before, but why not stay another year or two in school? Sure, another couple years as a "poor college student" but it could've helped them extend their potential to earn money for another 5+ years on the back end of an NBA career.

If someone will pay you enough money to just roll the dice and see whether you're ready (and a bunch of people are telling you that your a sure thing) and someone else is going to force you to go to class, play defense, and be a team player, you roll the dice.
I assume the odds are against you rising up in the draft chart if you are really overpriced. It would be interesting to know if the Sabermetrics folks out there have a read on the relative effect of staying in college one additional year to the performance of an NBA athlete. I'm sure it has been studied a lot by the teams.

Yes, Selby especially should have stayed. i made that strong argument then, and i'm being proven right he'll be out of the league next year if he doesn't really bring it now, and in the summer.
his frosh year, he was hurt....or so we were told. if that's the case, you come back strong, prove your durability and kick tail your soph year! then you write your own ticket. i don't know, these kids need some other bugs in their ear, besides the cousins and so called friends who think they know everything.

I'm sure it has been explained numerous times, but what in the hell is the deal with Drew Gooden? Play him or trade him > assuming he is "tradeable".
