Kansas track gains three NCAA-leading marks

The third-ranked Kansas University women’s track and field team had individual winners in all but one event Saturday afternoon at the Bill Easton Classic inside Anschutz Sports Pavilion. Three Jayhawks — pole-vaulter Natalia Bartnovskaya, sprinter Kyle Clemons and triple jumper Andrea Geubelle — posted NCAA-leading marks, while 15 individual KU athletes and all four relays took home victories from Kansas’ first meet of the new year.

KU track & field will have a short week as it will return to Anschutz Pavilion on Friday for the Jayhawk Challenge.

...and they were competing against whom?

No Big XII schools, just much smaller schools such as Fort Hays State, Baker, Prairie View, Iowa Western and a JuCo or 2.

everyone back from last year's NCAA runner up in indoor, and 4th place finish at outdoor...and we added the pole vaulter.

we are very strong contenders in both sports....for not only league titles but nationals as well.....should be a lot of fun to watch.

I tried to find current rankings and it doesn't look like the rankings come out until Jan 8 for Indoor Track.

I would imagine that we end up in the Top 4 for woman and Top 25 for Men. I believe the finals in 2012 for the ladies was Tied for 3 last year and Men tied for 23.

Saguaro, it really doesn't matter who they compete against as long as they are getting top NCAA times and marks. Also, if you knew anything about Juco's in the area they are also consistantly some of the best in the nation. Rock Chalk, love seeing our track and field represent!
