Kansas softball falls to Lobos

? A two-out double in the top of the seventh doomed Kansas University to a 2-1 softball loss to New Mexico on Sunday at the Islanders Classic.

New Mexico (9-9) took a 1-0 lead in the first, but KU (10-4) tied it in the bottom of the fifth on Ashley Newman’s RBI triple.

Alicia Pille (3-2) took the loss for KU. She allowed both earned runs off five hits over the full seven innings, with nine strikeouts and one walk.

Kansas will travel to Raleigh, N.C., to face North Carolina A&M in the first game of the Wolfpack Challenge at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
