— Kansas University freshman Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a 4-over 76, tied for 10th and was named to the all-tournament team at the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship on Sunday at The Harvester Golf Club.

Kansas placed eighth as a team with a three-round score of 941 (77 over), which was five strokes behind sixth-place Texas and TCU.

“Condition-wise, today was tough. It was real windy, which made the greens pretty slick,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “We played better on the back nine after getting off to a tough start. Today wasn’t the type of day where you could make a lot of birdies and make up a lot of ground.”

Kawinpakorn shot 76-77-76—229 (13 over) to tie two others for 10th.

“Mook did a good job in earning all-tournament honors,” O’Neil said of Kawinpakorn. “I am proud of her. She works really hard, and it’s great to see that hard work paying off. Minami also had a very solid tournament for us. She played well.”

KU’s Minami Levonowich shot 232 and was 16th.

Other KU scores: Meghan Potee, tied for 35th, 242; Audrey Yowell, 38th, 244; and Thanuttra Boonraksasat, tied for 39th, 245.

Baylor’s Lauren Taylor was medalist at 213, and Oklahoma State won the team title with 905 strokes.

Kansas will learn on April 29 if it will be one of 72 teams selected for NCAA regional play.
