Topeka Kansas University junior sprinter and Olympic gold medalist Diamond Dixon was honored by Kansas Governor Sam Brownback at the capitol building Friday morning. Dixon was a member of the 4x400-meter Olympic relay team that won gold in London in August.
Dixon was first given a tour of the capitol building.
After a quick picture session with Dixon, Governor Brownback signed a proclamation explaining Dixon’s accomplishments both in London and her first two seasons as a member of the KU track and field team.
