Baylor baseball pummels KU, 10-2

— Kansas University’s Jake Marasco was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, but the KU baseball team lost its Big 12 conference opener to Baylor, 10-2 on Friday at Baylor Ballpark.

Bears pitcher Josh Turley picked up the win by holding the Jayhawks (10-11 overall, 0-1 Big 12) scoreless through the first 52⁄3 innings. Ka’iana Eldredge and Marasco drove in KU’s only runs in the eighth inning. Frank Duncan allowed four runs on four hits in six innings and took the loss for Kansas.

The Jayhawks and Bears play again at 4:05 p.m. today. The teams will finish the series Sunday.
