Missouri blanks Kansas softball for second, third straight games

— Kansas University’s 20-game softball winning streak has turned into a three-game losing streak.

Missouri swept the Jayhawks, 5-0 and 9-0, on Sunday.

Combined with a 10-0 shutout loss Friday in the series opener, the Jayhawks were outscored 24-0 over the weekend.

The Jayhawks managed just seven hits in the three games combined.

KU (20-5 overall, 0-3 Big 12) had just two hits in Sunday’s nightcap. No. 12 Missouri (20-3, 3-0) had seven hits in each game Sunday.

Kansas’s previously scheduled doubleheader at Missouri State on Tuesday has been moved to March 27 because of weather. Instead, the Jayhawks will host Oklahoma State at 5 p.m. on March 23.

This is the second year of a bogus non conference schedule just to pad won/lost records and stats. Then these poor kids are forced to come to reality playing real teams. This selfish coaching strategy is not fair to the players. If this team is going to compete in the big 12, then they need to play the same caliber of teams in preseason. It's not rocket science. the conference season always validates a team's worthiness...and this series just showed we have a long ways to go. 24-0...that's simply stunning. i know we played them tougher last year....(we lost two games).

it's flat out embarrassing....our women's programs are all over the place....womens bball decides to start playing some real ball, quite late in the season...and women's track gets some national hardware. Softball was doing great...and poof!'s gone.

i really hope they can win more than two league games this year....but this point, that might not be doable.

LOL! this coach is a joke, she should be embarrassed for herself. trying to make herself look like the star coach by getting consistent wins against a cupcake schedule. everybody sees right through it. she's the laughing stock of ncaa softball.
