Rio Verde, Ariz. Katy Nugent tied the tournament single-round record with a 3-under 68 and placed second overall, and Kansas University’s women’s golf team won the Rio Verde Invitational on Sunday.
KU came from six strokes behind to win the team title with 900. Runner-up Missouri State shot 903.
“The team got off to a great start this morning and they played steady for the entire round which was key,” coach Erin O’Neil said. “We had three players finish in the top 25, and that usually leads to us having a good team tournament. Katy had an outstanding final round and really led the way for us. Audrey and Nadia also had a solid tournament as well.”
Akron’s Kristen Hill won the individual title with 219.
Nugent shot 76-76-68—220.
KU’s other results: Audrey Yowell, tied for sixth, 224; Nadia Luttner, tied for 18th, 229; Thanuttra Boonraksasat, tied for 21st, 230; and Meghan Potee, tied for 33rd, 234.

Congrats!
It seems fairly obvious, but the LJW never seems to list the number of teams when they do an article on a tournament. Doesn't that seem like it's a fairly basic piece of information that could help us put things in context?
