Former Jayhawk third in heat at swim trials

Former Kansas University swimmer Danielle Herrmann finished third in her heat in the 100 breaststroke Tuesday at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Herrmann, a four-year KU standout from 2005-09, was leading her heat heading into the final lap and finished with a time of 1:12.87. She was not one of the 16 swimmers to advance to the semifinal round.
