KU’s Pille strikes out 13 in shutout softball victory

— Kansas University pitcher Alicia Pille struck out 13, and the Jayhawks shut out Northern Colorado, 1-0, on Sunday morning at the Southeastern Lion Classic.

Pille, who pitched a complete game, gave up just three walks and three hits to the previously undefeated Bears (5-1).

Left fielder Maggie Hull led KU at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and the Jayhawks’ only RBI.

KU freshman third baseman Chanin Naudin was 3-for-3.

Kansas (3-2) will travel to Charlotte, N.C., on Friday for the Charlotte Classic. KU will take on Middle Tennessee State at 9 a.m.

Hopefully this is a sign that softball is on the rise. We need to get all these other teams clicking, not just Football. I knew Pille and her family when she was in elementary and middle school. Great people! Rock Chalk!
