KU signee Ellis helps team to state record

? Future Kansas University forward Perry Ellis scored 37 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Wichita Heights defeated Wichita Northwest, 83-61, on Friday night and tied the state record for most consecutive victories. Heights has won 59 consecutive games, tying Moundridge (1990-93).

Ellis, who was named to the McDonald’s All-America game this week, has been part of all 59 victories and three state titles.
