Kansas University's basketball team is scheduled to arrive in Zurich to begin its European tour early to mid morning Tuesday, associate athletic director Jim Marchiony said today.
The Jayhawks, who had weather-related flight problems on Sunday that kept the team in Washington, D.C., overnight, were to depart Washington's Dulles Airport at 3:05 p.m., Eastern time, today on Lufthansa Airlines and fly to Frankfurt, Germany. There the squad catches a connecting flight to Zurich where it figures to arrive somewhere around 9 a.m., Tuesday, Switzerland time.
"Everybody is upbeat and ready to take the next leg on the journey," Marchiony said.
The Jayhawks are still planning on playing the Swiss National team at noon, Central time, Tuesday, which is 7 p.m. in Switzerland.

How did they keep those athletes entertained and fed while sitting around all day Sunday and today?

They are going to be Zombies in the game today. 6 hours of time difference, probably little or no sleep on the planes. It's tough enough just to walk around & try to adjust without falling asleep on your feet the first day, let alone playing a basketball game. It'll be interesting to hear what happens! Hope they adjust fast!
