Kansas women’s golf 5th at Smith Invite

— Kansas University sophomore Thanuttra Boonraksasat tied for fourth, and KU placed fifth as a team at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Tuesday at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

KU shot 307-301-313—921 at the two-day event.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t finish up as well as I would have liked today,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “Although, we did see improvement in certain areas of each players games which is encouraging.”

Boonraksasat shot 74-74-73—221 to tie for fourth.

“She stepped up to lead us with three solid rounds on a difficult golf course,” O’Neil said of Boonraksasat, “and could have shot even lower if a few more putts would have fallen for her.”

Other KU results: Nadia Luttner, tied for 22nd, 77-77-78—232; Gabrielle DiMarco (77-77-79) and Meghan Potee (76-82-75), tied for 24th at 233; Audrey Yowell, tied for 38th at 82-78-77—237; Michelle Woods, tied for 43rd at 79-78-83—240; and Katy Nugent, tied for 46th, 83-73-85—241.

Arkansas-Little Rock won the team title with an 891, and UALR’s Malin Lundberg was medalist at 217.
