Kansas University volleyball defeated Texas Tech for its first conference victory, Saturday at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
Allison Mayfield’s 21 kills paced the Jayhawks (13-8, 1-7 Big 12), who had 60 kills as a team and downed the Red Raiders (14-9, 0-8) in four sets, 22-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.
Kansas also recorded 10 blocks — three more than the Red Raiders, the league’s blocks leader.
The Jayhawks will play next at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when they travel to No. 15 Iowa State.
