Agent: Mike Anderson, Missouri seeking contract extension

— Missouri coach Mike Anderson’s agent says he is negotiating a new contract with the school amid continued reports that Arkansas is trying to lure him away.

Jimmy Sexton told Memphis radio station WHBQ-AM Tuesday morning that “we’ve been in discussion with them for several weeks now.”

Sexton is a Memphis resident whose firm also represents several ACC, SEC and NFL coaches, including Alabama football coach Nick Saban and Rex Ryan of the New York Jets. He added that while “nothing is imminent” he expects “some resolution ... in the next few days.”

On Tuesday there was increased talking in Arkansas that he will be their coach. The Missery governing board refused to act upon any contract approval for Anderson on Tuesday also. This thing isn't done until it's done. It's pretty obvious Missery is being held hostage by Anderson. High comedy to say the least. The guy is barely average coach and if he gets his 2 mil a year he will be in the top TEN highest paid BB coaches in the country. He's not worth it by any stretch of the imagination but if Missery is stupid enough to give it to him then they will continue to be mid of the road in the Big 12.

I hope he stays at Missery. He'll win a lot of games there, but with his style of basketball, it is unlikely they'll ever make the Final 4. Besides, if he leaves, they may go after someone like Brad Stevens. I bet he'd go to MU for $2 million a year. Now that's a scary thought.

MU is stupid for playing this game with him 3 years in a row. I'd just tell him, "If you really want to go, then go." They gave him this opportunity and this is how he's thanked them.

Stevens will NOT go to MU! At this point, it would be a lateral move! I think he is content being at Butler until one of the big 5 open up. My guess is Indiana!

Hope Mike stays at Mizzery. ESPN is saying he may be on the way to the Hogs.

Only at Mizzoooou does mediocrity get rewarded. Heck, they adored Stormy Normy for decades, and what did he ever accomplish above the norm (pun intended)?

No doubt Anderson's playing the game (contract negotiation)...pitting Arkansas vs. Missouri. Ben McLemore - time to commit to KU!

Just as I said earlier this morning this Anderson reuping at mizzery probably isn't going to happen. Many media outlets in Arkansas and national are reporting Ark. has offered 2.2 mil for 7 years and he will be introduced as their coach Thursday. Poor mizzery.

Yeah I heard that at lunch on the radio too. 2.2 million for 7 years, where is he going to do better than that? And seriously, for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This would make him among the top ten highest paid coaches in the country.

He would be paid more than Roy Williams, more than Rick Barnes, more than Tom Izzo, waaaaaay more than Mike Freaking Krzyewski.... Seriously. Every guy on the list around him has Final Four appearances and/or title(s).

Who is his agent? I am taking him to every job interview I ever have.

With Anderson leaving, McLemore should go ahead and sign with us!

Haggling over 200k shows you where his mind is at. He knows he can't win a NC. Even though Roy, Izzo and Caoch K may get less salary, they more than make up for it in other ways thanks to their winning programs. Anderson must know he can never hope to achieve that type of success and is looking to pick up every nickel on his way to permanent mediocrity.
