Finley, from Salida, Colo., had his best throw of the day (19.47 meters, or 63 feet, 101⁄2 inches) on his second attempt in the prelims, but he didn’t advance to the finals.

Stowe, from Olathe, was 11th in 10:05.03.

They actually award an 11th place finish? Did they hand out participation ribbons as well?

Easy JayDoc... They competed in the Unites States Championships not some rinky dink dual meet. Facing the best professionals and US amateurs while finishing 11th is something to be proud of.

Agreed. 11th @ the US Championships is certainly something of which to be proud! Congrats, Mason & Rebeka.
