Bergmann leads KU track


— Kansas University sophomore Heather Bergmann garnered First Team All-America honors after collecting a seventh-place finish in the women’s javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday at Drake University.

The Concordia native launched a throw of 49.14 meters (161-02 feet) on her first attempt.

The women’s 4x400-meter relay team set a school record (3:33.31) and advanced to Saturday’s finals with a second-place finish.

KU junior Rebeka Stowe advanced to Saturday’s finals in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while junior Donny Wasinger advanced to Saturday’s finals in the 1,500-meter run.

Great finish for the women's 4x400! What a race! A poor exchange dropped them to 6th and they made an amazing come back. You can watch T&F here: Looking forward to watching Finley in the shot put and Diamond in the 400 m.

we could have two team top 15 finishes....possibly top 10....that would be a great way for the year to end. Go tracksters and Go Jayhawks!
