So Keegs is the guy that kept Texas at 3 huh?

This is a work that fits the perceptions of these teams and their body of work to date. There are a number of national writers who want Texas and Ohio State ahead of Kansas. Those who voted for Kansas may have noted the Thomas Robinson news impact on the Texas-KU game and discounted that result.

Now let us all hope that Kansas' stay at #1 remains permanent for this year!

Tom, surely you don't really think Kentucky could whip a second tier team like, say, Wichita State!

Personally, I can't imagine why anybody wants to be number one, at least not now. Isn't it better to not have that tag? And it may not be popular here, but I think Texas should be ranked ahead of us. I don't feel that way about Ohio State, but Texas played a tougher non-conference schedule, so the extra losses are more a reflection of that than their overall strength. Either way, it'll be fun to get the KSU fans up for a battle with number one and then kick their butts!!!

If our guys can keep their heads and remain focused in light of that early #1 crapola tag (and, after their experience last year, I think they will), the current rankings should not be a threat to the Jayhawks in their forward progress. Gotta hope that none of the players issue explosive quotable quotes for competing coaches to place on bulletin boards.

Why Texas so high?

Let's see Pitt beat Texas, Pitt has two quality losses and Texas has two quality losses and one absolutely embarrasing loss (3 losses total for those counting). Additionally, Duke has 2 losses (one embarrassing and one quality). SDSU one quality loss. BYU two bad losses.

KU, OSU, Pitt, Duke, SDSU, UT, BYU....

Can someone please explain to me why UT is getting so much love...

Two things about your post:

They ignore that Pitt beat Texas. You see, a few years back, when the tie-breaker rule went against Texas (and rules are not directly buyable, only rulemakers are) they changed the rule so that only the head-to-heads that UT wins count.

Second, "Can someone please explain to me why UT is getting so much love..." You mean other than they are UT and ESPN has been in a constant circle jerk with them for the better part of the last two decades? That they have one of the largest journalism departments in the country? And people forget that Rick Barnes is still Rick Barnes?

Every night I go to sleep I say a little prayer to God that he will either hit Austin with a meteor, or KU will get into the Big 10(12). I'm fine either way, really, I am.

17-7 Kensucky at #21? Wow. By that logic they will be at #24 when they have 9 losses.

Probably due more to the weakness of college basketball this season than based on any real talent on UK's end. Either that, or Special K was just coasting through the bottom half of the list...

jaybate 10 years, 11 months ago

Question of the Day: Has any coach ever squandered as much talent in a single season as Cal is squandering at UK?

No_phog 10 years, 11 months ago

How many 1st round draft choices left UK last year ? DUH !!!!!!!!!!!
