KU’s Stowe runs to 16th-place finish


— Rebeka Stowe placed 16th to pace the Kansas University women, while Donny Wasinger notched 47th for the KU men at Saturday’s Indiana State pre-national cross country meet.

The KU women finished 18th of 40 teams and the men 24th of 36.

Stowe clocked a career-best time of 20:43.9 in the 6K. Natalie Becker placed 52nd in 21:25. Others: Tessa Turcotte, 134th, 22:08.4; Kara Windisch, 137th, 22:10.2; Kyra Kilwein, 160th, 22:21.6; Allie Marquis, 177th, 22:30; Amanda Miller, 183rd, 22:32.2.

Wasinger had a career-best 8K time of 24:33.7. Nick Caprario ran a career-best time, of 25:18.3 to take 116th, followed by Austin Bussing, 132nd, 25:21; Josh Baden, 147th, 25:34.6; John Munsch, 159th, 25:40.9; Jose Luis Munos, 194th, 26:09.
