Kansas coach Bill Self officially announced the signing of 6-foot guard Naadir Tharpe to a national letter of intent on Monday.
Tharp, a point guard from Worcester, Mass., averaged 13 points and six assists last season for Brewster Academy, located in Wolfeboro, N.H. Last season, Brewster went 35-5 and won the prep national championship.
“We are all very excited about Naadir,” Self said in a release. “We feel so fortunate that we were able to sign him. Even though we got involved recruiting him late, we saw him play a ton over the last couple of summers.
"He reminds me so much of (former KU guard) Aaron Miles. He’s a good solid point guard, quick, athletic and has become a very good shooter. I really believe he will be a great addition to our program.”
Tharpe was ranked the 91st-best player by Rivals.com. During his sophomore season, he was teammates at Brewster with current KU forward Thomas Robinson.

HCBS says Aaron Miles, but I'm thinking more RussRob. Either way - we win.

I have a friend in Jordan named Naadir and he said it means "rare". He could be a special player.
