KU volleyball team’s Garlington honored

For the second time in her career, Kansas University senior volleyball player Karina Garlington has been named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

Garlington, who was a third team honoree in 2008, was named to the second-team for maintaining a 3.77 cumulative grade-point average during her collegiate career as a sports management major. This season, Garlington has been the Jayhawks’ most consistent offensive threat as she is sixth in the Big 12 Conference, averaging 3.52 kills per set. She also ranks fourth all-time at Kansas in career kills, while her 3.16 kps career average ranks seventh.
