Kansas junior forward Marcus Morris has been named a preseason-second team All-American by ESPN analyst Dick Vitale.

Morris averaged 12.8 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Jayhawks last season.

“This is great and shows how hard we have been working this summer,” Morris said in a release. “Preseason rankings and teams like this are about potential and I hope we can use this for motivation.”

Morris is currently training with the USA Basketball Select Team in Las Vegas. His squad will later train against the USA National Team that is preparing for the FIBA World Championships.

Morris joins Gonzaga’s Elias Harris, Georgia’s Trey Thompkins, Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen and Michigan State’s Kalin Lucas on the second team.

The first-team selections were Duke’s Kyle Singler, Purdue’s Robbie Hummel and JuJuan Johnson, Virginia Tech’s Malcom Delaney and BYU’s Jimmer Fredette.
