Josh Selby, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Lake Clifton High in Baltimore, has narrowed his list of prospective colleges to six, Selby’s mom tells Rivals.com. Selby will attend either Kansas University, Syracuse, Kentucky, Miami, Indiana or Baylor. Also, KU coach Bill Self on Sunday had an in-home visit with Terrence Jones, a 6-8 senior from Portland’s Jefferson High. He has a list of KU, UCLA, Washington, Florida, Kentucky and Arizona.

Everyone involved in recruiting was absolutely shocked to hear that Selby cut UCONN from his list...It was widely accepted that Selby was all but signed to UCONN...Im not sure that KU will get this kid but since UCONN is out of contention its a whole new ball game.

I feel good about this year's recruiting crop for Kansas. I think Kansas, at point guard, will end up with either Brandon Knight or Josh Selby. We have a great shot at Harrison Barnes as a big guard and Adrien Payne and Terrence Jones are high on Kansas, at power forward.

The point guard I wish KU could corral would be Corey Joseph. Knight, Selby, Joseph...all tough gets in a class short of point guards.

Let's all hope Coach Self can minimize the damage the football vs. basketball embarassment has caused.

Let's all help Coach Self minimize the damage by not posting comments about it on a recruiting story. It was a minor skirmish. Move on.
Would love to see Selby in the Crimson and Blue.

RCG, et. al.,
Just my opinion, but the coaches, players, & AD are all saying and doing the right things to address the recent incident(s.) By November, those events should be all but forgotten, unless something new erupts. If that occurs, then it would make the problem look systemic and that could really hurt recruiting.

This from J-W dated Sept. 22nd:
Adreian Payne, a 6-foot-10, 215-pound senior center from Jefferson High School in Dayton, Ohio, will make his official basketball recruiting visit to Kansas University the weekend of Oct. 31, Rivals.com reports. Payne has a final list of KU, Kentucky, Arizona, West Virginia and Michigan State.

KU, Syracuse, Kentucky, Baylor, Miami, Indiana. Hmmmm...let's analyze this:
Syracuse is an awful town plus their mascot looks like a blood clot...NOPE!!
Kentucky will have 3 or 4 guards commit prior to inevitable NCAA bust....NOPE!!
Miami..nuff said...NOPE!!
Baylor....you've got to be kidding...NOPE!!!
Indiana....home of David Letterman, John Mellencamp and crappy BBall...NOPE!!
All that leaves is Kansas..Jo Jo, Kirk, Mario, Darnell, Jacques, Sherron,....maybe this school can produce a guard once in a while.......YES!!!!

http://theshiver.com/ reports that there is a possiblity that Selby might commit during the early period, but his mom also says that a lot can change during a season, which is certainly true.

MemphisMach,
Calapari is now at Kentucky. There was a direct transfer of interest from Memphis to Kentucky. I don't think Memphis is on anyone's list anymore.

Just confirmed that Lamb will be attending late night...other news is that Deron Lamb and Barnes will be visiting OU this weekend...they said it will be a huge weekend of recruiting for caple...so when KU has five recruits for Late Night that must be an extreme recruiting weekend!

I just don't see Norman as a place to go, if you've ever been to Lawrence. Barry Switzer? Really? Is that the face you want on your athletics program? ;)
Sure, we have a diverse campus and country music has its place, but I couldn't take that as a theme. Maybe Barnes being from Iowa, that's what's familiar??
Late Night should seal a couple of these youngsters. Who wouldn't want to be out on that floor involved in the brotherhood that is KU Basketball? Danny Manning coaxing you to go be silly, HCBS out getting his groove on - after he's put you through a Boot Camp that you'll be happy you went through come Feb/March Madness! Bring on Baby Jay, let's get the party started!!
