— The Kansas University soccer team was blanked, 3-0, by Oklahoma State on Friday in the Jayhawks’ Big 12 opener at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.

KU outshot OSU, 15-12, yet surrendered a pair of long goals in the second half.

Bridget Miller, Kasey Langdon and Katie Richardson scored for OSU (7-3 overall, 1-1 Big 12).

Miller gave OSU the early lead in the first half. After Colleen Dougherty sent a cross into the box, Miller worked through a double team and got a shot off the near post that ricocheted into the net at 16:23.

Oklahoma State was the first team this season to score before the Jayhawks to open the game.

Kansas fell to 7-2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference.

The Jayhawks put pressure on the Cowgirls in the second half, holding a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal. KU junior Caitlin Noble led the way with four shots, while Emily Cressy and Monica Dolinsky each had three.

Kansas senior goalkeeper Julie Hanley had three saves on the night.

Kansas will meet Oral Roberts in the final non-conference match of the season at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Tulsa, Okla.

i thought we'd have a pretty good soccer team this year....but to get dominated like this in the league opener....is not good.

we'll see how it goes.

Playing cream puffs is over and the Big XII schedule starts. KU is unprepared from playing the creampuffs. Could it be a lo ng season?
