Washington at #11... Disagree... USC always blows an easy conference game and then cries when they get left out of the Title game.... Washington loses 5 games... easy

I can see the logic. W beats USC, therefore is better. But no, it was a one game thing. USC will get their QB back, and Washington will return to normalcy, unranked.

I'm curious Keeg party. What did you have Washington ranked last week?

I love that Mizzy still isn't ranked though.

According to Keegan's logic if you beat an opponent you should be higher than them.

i.e. Washington at 11, USC at 12, Ohio State at 13.

So. If OU is 9, then BYU should be 8 regardless of other losses, which would put Florida State at 7 overall.

Keegan uses this "if a beat b and b beat c" rule when it fits him.

Here were his rankings last week, http://www2.kusports.com/news/2009/sep/13/how-keegan-voted/?football

Ohio State falls 1 spot after winning 38-0. Unranked Auburn beats unranked West Virginia and jumps to #17 Georgia outduels Arkansas in a shootout...now they're unranked.

I don't understand how one could justify the Ohio State and Auburn moves. Georgia played a little sloppy I can see why they might be unranked now, but in an argument what would you say when someone asks, "Why did Ohio State fall a spot when they beat Toledo 38-0?"

Washington played a great game ... but come on! Unranked to #11 because you won in an upset?!? No ...that makes no sense. I could see them making a move into the 25 - 30 ranks (assuming they were lower than that to begin with) ... but NOT Top 15.

Silly ... silly ... silly ...

Tom - Thanks for the transparency of posting your vote, and I like the fact that you have some semblance of logic - generally speaking, if you beat an opponent you should be higher than them (i.e. Washington at 11, USC at 12, Ohio State at 13), at least until there is evidance to indicate otherwise (ie. BYU).

At some point, we all know that the A>B>C rule falls apart, but until shown otherwise, it is as valid as the preseason hype machines that said OSU's D would suddenly become elite simply by adding a new DC.

Ohio State falls 1 spot after winning 38-0 because someone else's play against a more significant opponent moved them higher. One spot just isn't that significant early in the process.

"Unranked Auburn beats unranked West Virginia and jumps to #17. Georgia outduels Arkansas in a shootout...now they're unranked."

Headscratchers

Obviously Tom didn't watch the Auburn / W Virginia game. How they won that game I'll never know. Their quarterback should have thrown about 12 interceptions. WV couldn't seem to hold on to them. The Auburn D would miss about 5 tackels every play. It was Busch league football at its finest.

What is the fascination with Boise State? They have a good team but not a top ten team. I've watched them twice now and don't care to see them play Texas or Florida in a bowl game and they basically don't play another team. At this rate, they will be top 4 at the end of the season. Oregon is not a good team and that is their big win.

I wouldn't be ticked if rankings didn't matter, but they do... The college football system is a joke. Washington at No. 11?!?!?!?! That's rich... Washington 10-point underdog against Stanford. Nice top 15 team you got there, Keegan...

I agree with Washington at No. 11. An injury to Jake Locker last year was key to that team sliding miserably. It's easy to forget that they should have beaten BYU a year ago, had it not been for that awful delay of game penalty. They played LSU within eight points in their first game under a new coach after a winless season, then beat USC two weeks later? I'd say they deserve the respect.

...and if we had won all of our games, we would have gone undefeated.

Yakihawk 10 years, 4 months ago

Good call RG. -- With Sarkisian as coach Locker will be the best Q-back in the PAC-10 by next year, however, after 0-12 last year + 2 wins this year, they maybe should break into the ranks a little lower.

I'd like to see the Hawks stay in the top 20 until we ruin ol' Big Game's day October 24th!

Washington get's one fluke win and they are ranked higher than KU???!?!?!?

Whatever......WAYYYYY overrated. They lose next game by 17.
