KU’s Biere could miss Duke game

Kansas University football coach Mark Mangino said Wednesday that tight end Tim Biere could miss Saturday's game against visiting Duke.

Biere, who started two games last season when the Jayhawks used a tight end on the first play of the game, caught one pass in the team's season-opener two weeks ago but wasn't listed on the participation report for Saturday's victory over UTEP.

"Tim will be OK," said Mangino. "He's been sick. I don't know exactly if we'll be able to use him this week or not, but he'll be ready for sure for the Southern Miss game (on Sept. 26)."

I've been hoping Tim, AJ or someone else would step it up at TE. Tim seems to have blocking down, but not the quickness yet.

The absence of Derek Fine was missed last year. I suppose when you have as many options as Todd does, you don't always need a sixth set of hands (four receiver set plus Sharp/Opurum)

Though it doesn't make for exciting TV, I really want a bloodbath on Saturday. No hesitations on defense and plenty of high numbers for the offense, especially Reesing.

Bring a 3rd string linebacker to tight end -- those big guys block with the best of them.

Thanks Frankenhawk! It's nice to have inside information...although consider the team. Remember that famous WWII poster "Someone Talked!".....

whitechocolate, how many players do you think are on the field at once? If there are five offensive linemen (who are ineligible to receive passes), plus a quarterback to throw the passes . . . hmmmmmm . . .

Usually after my third mint julep, double vision kicks in.

Thanks again, Frankenhawk. Now go study!
