Former KU player Thomas leads NBA team to win

— Former Kansas University basketball guard Billy Thomas scored 27 points off perfect 12 of 12 shooting to lead the NBA Generations team to a 94-82 victory over Incheon Etland Elephants on Sunday at the NBA Asia Challenge.

Former KU guard Russell Robinson had 17 points for the Generations team, which is made up of top NBA developmental league players plus former NBA players.

Thomas hit three three-pointers and had four rebounds.

“We played the game how we knew we could play and just had fun,” said Thomas, who played for Colorado of the NBADL last year. “I’m thankful to be in a lineup with my NBA D-League teammates and guys that I watched play.”

The NBA team will meet the Philippine Basketball Assn. All Stars on Sept. 11 in Manila.

One of the best shooters we've ever had.

A tribute to what hard work with a great attitude can do.

To have both KU guards in the lineup and scoring high double digits is gratifying for crimson/blue fans.
