The Kansas women's basketball team is ranked No. 20 in the preseason Associated Press poll released Friday.
The Jayhawks last appeared in the national polls on Feb. 21, 2000.

Woohoo! How unfortunate that we couldn't be ranked in Men's and Women's Basketball, in football, and in soccer all at the same time. But this speaks volumes for what people think about our women's team. I hope that it gives them confidence to know that as long as they play as hard as they can they can compete with any team in the country.

Congrats to Coach Henrickson and the Lady Jayhawks. They earned this honor from all their hard work and success at the end of last season. Now the trick is to be ranked at the end of this year...

"In Bonnie We Trust"....congratulations!!!!!
It has taken her awhile to dig the women's program out of the hole she inherited when she started. Throw in Guardian Angel Goodrich Guard and these Gals will soar, score and rock some more!!!!
I have three nieces who live in Lawrence and are season ticket holders for the KU LadyHawks and are steadfast fans.
PS Bonnie, always have Bill ask the five star recruits if they have any sisters and vice versa!!!

Other have us between 29 and 36, and we are still receiving votes. I'm so damn tired of the negative football comments. What a bunch of crap fans. Congrats Lady hawks! Don't lose a game or boogeyman will disown you.

Agreed. The football team is one TTU win away from being ranked again. With the offense back on track, KU wins the North. Sorry to bring football into posts about the women's basketball team, but I'm tired of all of the negativity resulting from KU dropping two games as well. I guess having grown up in Lawrence and watching KU teams get trounced in a nearly empty Memorial Stadium, hoping that they might find some way to get to .500 gives me a different set of insights and sensibilities, but come on... This team is still in it and deserves our support... if we call ourselves fans. KU fans walk around with chips on our shoulders when the team is doing exceptionally well because we feel that the media gives us no love. He11, we do that all on our own in circumstances like these. Cut it out.

Cool. Will be there with bells on Sunday! Still living temporarily in Texas, so can't get up as frequently as I'd like for awhile. Hope to change that in a couple months, and then get to a lot more games. This should be a fun season.
Bonnie Ball is picking up momentum!
