Kansas University's football team fell out of both top 25 polls one day after losing its second straight game.

Kansas was ranked in both polls for the past seven weeks, but the 35-13 loss Saturday against Oklahoma ended the team's run. The Jayhawks (5-2), who were ranked 21st in the USA Today coaches poll and 24th in the Associated Press poll last week, received votes in both polls but did not place in either top 25.

Other Big 12 Conference teams ranked in the polls this week: Texas (No. 3 AP, No. 3 coaches), Oklahoma State (13, 13), Oklahoma (22, 23).

By the way he is not a great coach until he can beat one of the big boys. You may not like it but its reality. That being said, you may want to read my blog before commenting. I just said if folks were going to boo Reesing, they should boo Mangino too. That is all. I did not say, am not saying Mangino needs to be fired. But I do not think he called a good game. Write it down and let it go

Fabio, I did not say he needed to be fired, but he called a bad game.

KSURiggins- I dont care how many times you put it on here, Mangino is not going to get fired. So just deal with it because soon he will be the all time winningest coach in KU history. How many times did you put up ignorant post in 06 calling for his firing? No one heeded your call then or ever. Post it 500 times and guess what? Mangino will still be here.

Joehawk if Reesing has not proven to you by now his worth. It will never happen. He does not need to. Most KU fans know already he is a legend. The best KU QB ever. Don't believe me..check the stat book and get back to me. Oh and then there is.. Back to back bowl victories. Name any other KU QB who has done the same? Trick question. NO ONE has. End of story. You want to boo someone ..boo Mark Mangino. We should OU NOT one single new play. No new wrinkles. Not one single thing that had not seen already. We put all the pressure on Todd's shoulders and we went away from our running game. Maybe Mangino sucks. Maybe he needs to be booed. And then he is STUPID enough..that is right STUPID enough to put Kale Pick in a NO win situation..putting him in for two QB draws, when even our cheerleaders could have told you their is no way Mangino will let him throw. Stupid. If you are going to switch stuff up, let Pick throw it. Boo Mangino and his staff.

I dont' agree with Riggins. Todd has now had 3 bad games in a row. He played poorly in the ISU, CU and OU games. He is not throwing the ball sharply and he is telegraphing his passes. How long can he stare at Meier? Now our line is very average and maybe he is getting gun shy, he is getting a lot of pressure and finally he starting to show it.

He does need to be booed once in awhile, he needs to know from his fans that he is not playing well.

I do believe he will come back, but he needs to get out of the bars a few nights and maybe focus a little more.

Posted this before:

Keep in mind Kstate is 3-1 in conference right now, they've played one more in conference game than most of us. So here's the deal:

TT is as mad as we are right now (they got blown out by Texas A&M). However I believe we are much madder -- we can play much better & we'll be ready. If we take care of those guys next week, we'll be 2-2 in conference, essentially one game behind KSU.

Once we meet KSU, if we win, we'd have the same record, and hold the tiebreaker. They'll lose a couple more at least before all's said & done. Similar to the tough task we have at Texas (now let's not go crazy if we lose, lets just hope we play our best that's all we can ask of our guys).

My point is, it might look like KSU is way ahead of everyone in the North right now -- but it's an illusion, they've played an extra game & we still get our head to head matchup (which we must attack).

The point? If we do our best, we still control our destiny to the Big 12 championship game.

Good comment njjayhawk. Could NOT agree more. When Reesing comes back, and dices teams up again(because anyone is allowed a bad game) I am going to laugh, when KU bandwagon fans, commentators and others have to eat crow. Do not forget, he has been Superman for a long time. If Peyton Manning has a bad game, does anybody actually have the nerve to say he sucks now. Or to boo him. Of course not, cause he is awesome. So is Reesing. Those who booed are STUPID, he has rocked and will rock another day, just wait and see.

Polls only count at the end of the season.

Look, if we kick butt at TT; then work the Bill Synder's Mildcats such that they feel they have just been run thru a KSU grad school-owned manure chopper; then get physical with NU, pounding them into oblivioni; then roll a very bad Missery team that plays like a whimp wristed Goldylocks infatuated with losing, we will be fine - both in the Big 12 North and in the polls. An expected loss in Austin, but by less than 2 TDs, will set up an interesting UT vs. KU game in Dallas for the big trophy. No, I'm not drunk (although I have been drinking since yesterday's game vs. OU).

Maybe the stench just means you need a shower, because at least those comments stink.

Can't believe KU even got any votes in either poll. Obviously, the stench from Lawerence does not reach all the voters (yet)! Thank goodness 4 of 5 remaining games are on the road:-)!
