Maxhawk, haven't you figured it out by now? Keegan simply looks at the top 25 to see who won and lost, then looked at who they lost to and votes accordingly. Basically he is too lazy to watch the games or do any research on his own and instead relies on ESPN to tell him where teams should be ranked. The way he voted shouldn't surprise anyone.

Boise State, USC, Iowa and Oregon in the top 10??? Keegan you just really suck at ranking...I cannot believe we let writers like Keegan vote for the AP polls...And look where he put KU and look where KU is actually ranked, that's weird huh?

So four Big 12 teams are about even? You should probably know the most about these teams. Are you trying to be nice to them? Vote like you got a pair. KU should be able to outscore OU and NU. Miami is a top 10 team, and Boise is not a top 5 team.

USC = Overrated.

They will lose another in the Pac 10. Mark it down.

Well, at least Keegan did not rank Mizzou like all of the ESPN/ABC guys did to help elevate the matchup against Nebraska for Thursday night. Also, Kirk Herbstreit of ABC finally ranked the Hawks. He did not have them in a ballot the first few weeks and now elevated them to 18 during a bye week. As we can see, AP voters are all over the charts and these rankings don't mean anything until the end of the year (well, the Coach's and Harris polls). KU just needs to win each week and everything will get sorted out.

I, for one, am excited that the pollsters have started to back themselves into a tough spot. Having Boise State ranked so high, so early is going to hurt them at the end. Most likely they will be undefeated and there is a good chance the SEC will have 3 one loss teams (LSU and Florida play, also Alabama and LSU, then the SEC championship which will most likely be Florida vs. LSU/Alabama). They will continue to move up and will wreak havoc on the BCS. I hope this helps push for a playoff.

LA Jay.... That's really going out on a limb with a freshman Quarterback who leads a team of 5 star recruits into battle and can hardly break 20 points with them......

I totally agree....possibly two. Usc should not be ANYWHERE near the top 10.

I just don't get how you can rank Oklahoma 17 (or in the Top 25 for that matter) based on their current situation. #1 they haven't beaten anyone. #2 they've lost twice. #3 Not only is Bradford injured, but their star TE and top WR are lost for the season. This is NOT the same OU teams we've seen the last 5 years or so.... To have them ranked this high is simply due to their NAME and the benefit of the doubt of Bradford being injured.

OU is likely going to be 3-3 when they travel to Lawrence. KU could very well be 6-0. Will OU STILL be ranked ahead of KU at that point? I doubt it because a 3-3 team should NEVER be ranked....

put it on the bulletin board. i agree. and i think at the end of the year Iowa wont be ranked. im tired of teams jumping from unranked to top 12.

and could ku ou be gameday? that is if ou stops losing

rasta_meta 10 years, 6 months ago

Based on how Keegan usually votes, I am surprised he didn't rank UTEP at #12. If KU hadn't already played UTEP and beat them, I am pretty sure Keegan would have ranked them just because they beat Houston.

Well at the beginning of the year it looked like a lock but since OU has now lost twice I dont see it...Plus that week you have MU vs. UT and BYU vs. TCU and Auburn vs. LSU...If MU stays undefeated and UT doesnt slip up that could be on gameday...Auburn and LSU are both 5-0 and they could both be undefeated when they meet up in week 8...BYU is ranked 18th I think and TCU is 10th and if they don't lose a game by week 8 they could also be on Gameday.

I think KU has done their part in keeping Gameday on but OU losing twice hurts...Now, certainly OU has had a tougher road than KU but it's still disappointing.

Jesus. Get a grip folks. It's a vote.

At least he still doesn't have mizzy ranked.

This could finally be the year the bcs @#$%s everything up so much so that something finally gets done about a playoff especially with obama running things (...into the ground). Think about it: if the top 3 in the sec all lose at least 1 game (very possible since they all play each other at least once) and say texas does lose to ou or KU then stupid overrated boise st will have to be put at number 1 and then if we get to the end of the year and boise is undefeated and number 1 still while all the other major teams have 1 or even 2 loses nobody will want to see boise playing for the NC (plus they don't deserve to play for it) and the backlash/outcry of being undefeated and #1 but not deserving of playing in the title game just might be the final tipping point of this stupid bc$ nonsense GET A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

KUwins_again 10 years, 5 months ago

i guess if you cant win the system change it. But lets face it, if you have a playoff, the regular season would probably only involve conf games. Most teams would only play 8 or so games while the top 16 or however many at most play 13 or 14. The BCS makes ever game matter. Think about it, how much games in sept. matter.

beebe1 10 years, 5 months ago

Hey -- it's so much more fun to listen to the argument about 'who's number 1'. Changing to a playoff system would goof up the whole opposition market. Maybe 4 teams make the playoff, similar to BB would be OK. We don't need to have 8 teams in a playoff.

CrodieBroyle 10 years, 5 months ago

Boise should not be #4 over LSU. USC, Ohio St and Oregon are overrated. Interesting how Keegan put ku at 18 behind eight teams with losses, including ou when the full ap ballot has ku at #16 ahead of ou and auburn

CrodieBroyle 10 years, 5 months ago

If he feels georgia is good enough to stay ranked with 2 losses, why did the team that just went to their house and beat them(LSU) get ranked behind Boise St
