Kansas junior guard Tyrel Reed re-sprained his right ankle at practice over the weekend, but KU coach Bill Self said the guard still might play Tuesday in the Jayhawks' exhibition finale against Pittsburg State.
"Tyrel tweaked his ankle, so I don't know what his availability will be tomorrow," Self said Monday. "He turned his ankle pretty severely on Saturday, the same one he hurt before. He may be ready to go."
Self said C.J. Henry continues to be hampered by his swollen right knee.
"The knee's still bothering him a little bit. He's tried to practice and it swelled back up, so I don't know if he'll play on Tuesday. ... Hopefully, he'll be out there, but I don't know if he'll be able to go tomorrow or not."
Self said no decision had been made on possibly red-shirting Mario Little, Travis Releford or Conner Teahan. The coach said there would not be an announcement made Monday.

There's enough people to play besides Reed. He needs to be healed 100%. Sounds like CJ is consistently injury prone. Too bad as his first love was KU then he went to MLB. Ever since he went to Memphis he never saw the court and thus far he isn't going to see it here. Sounds like he has some severe knee problems. He'll probably have it scoped since it continues to swell. Too bad for the guy. Even when he gets to the court he'll be no better than a fresh behind the ear freshman.

Agreed; no need to rush Reed back to the hardwood, especially for a preseason game.
BTW KeithMiles05, I think you mean 'wet' behind the ears, not 'fresh'...

He shouldn't risk getting further injured vs. Pitt State, if they can't win without him (which they totally can) his ankle would be the least of their problems.

kuwells:
What do you mean as we all know if HCMM were coach both Reed and CJ would play the whole game.
Go Big Red.
