The Kansas University soccer team lost, 3-2 in overtime, to top-seeded Missouri on Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament after MU’s Kristin Andrighetto blasted the game-winner in the 96th minute.

The loss eliminated the No. 8-seeded Jayhawks from the conference tournament and dropped them to 12-8-2 overall, while MU improved to 13-5-3. The Tigers will face Oklahoma State in the semifinals Friday.

The loss will likely end KU’s season. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday.

Emily Cressy scored her 12th goal of the season for KU. The 12 goals are the second-most in a season, along with Caroline Smith, who had 12 her freshman year in 2002.

Kim Boyer also scored her first goal of the season for KU. Monica Dolinsky earned her 30th career assist, moving her into 17th all-time in the Big 12.

You ladies cam very close to whipping MU twice in a row. Too bad you did not play like this the entire season. KU Needs toschedue tougher non-conference matches and avoid the cream puffs, if they want to think NCAAs!

tough duty beating the best team in the league twice in a row, within a week.

pretty decent season...and with 3 of our top 4 points makers being freshman or sophs...and a freshman goalie getting a lot of experience....the future looks pretty bright.

the season always seems to hinge on Nebraska. the only year i can think of we beat them in the regular season, is when we won the league several years ago. this year, we got beat again. we need to figure out how to beat the Huskers.

Good season and look forward to the future. Go Jayhawks!

FlaHawk- That is the second time you have mentioned a soft non conference... They played a GREAT non-conference schedule. Get your facts right. It was conference play that doomed them.
