KU baseball to face K-State in Big 12 tournament opener

Regardless of the outcome of Sunday's regular season finale against No. 11 Kansas State, the Kansas University baseball team will open next week's Big 12 tournament with a game against the Wildcats.

As of Sunday evening, all of the conference's games had been completed with the exception of KU-K-State, meaning the outcome of the game will determine the final seedings of the tournament — but not the Jayhawks' opponent.

If KU (36-19, 14-12 in the Big 12) wins Sunday night's game, which kicks off at 6 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark, the Jayhawks will be the No. 5 seed with K-State (39-14-1, 14-10-1) as the No. 4. If the Jayhawks lose, they'll be the No. 6 seed, with the Wildcats No. 3.

Oklahoma has wrapped up the No. 2 spot, meanwhile, while Texas, who KU swept earlier this season, will be the tournament's top seed.

The Big 12 championships run from May 20-24 in Oklahoma City.

Gonna be a tough one. Expect KSU to throw their ace (From Friday's 4-1 win in Manhattan).

Hopefully we save some of these runs for the tourney!

Texas didn't sweep KU. KU swept Texas.
