Big 12 to keep tiebreaker

— Big 12 coaches have rejected a proposal to change the controversial tiebreaker that gave Oklahoma the nod over Texas in the three-way tie in the Big 12 South last season. Meeting at a resort on Wednesday, they voted to keep the Bowl Championship Series standings as the method to break ties between more than two teams.

This makes no sense at all. We may never see a 3 way tie such as last year again, but it really should be changed to shadow that of the SEC.

Actually, if we would of beaten a South Team, then there would of been a 3-way tie in the North instead. And I think we very well could see another 3 way tie in the near future.

This is total BS.....just like the BcS. The Big 12 does not want to bite the hand that feeds it. Yes I know other BcS conferences do not use this tie breaker, but for the Big 12 to have it, and then go away from it, would be akin to saying the Big 12 thinks the BcS blows, which we all know it does. The only way to get a national playoff, is to get rid of the BcS, and the only way that can happen is if there is no more media revenue, and the only way that can happen is if advertisers stop paying for spots. HMMMM.....let's see.....a national boycott of any company that advertises during a BcS game.....possible??? YES! Likely? unfortunately, no.

A 3 way tie, yes, but a 3 way tie that goes through all the tiebreakers again, that has the repercussions...I find that very unlikely. Who knows, guess we will see!

In situations like last year, use the BCS rankings to determine the top 2 teams. Then use head-to-head results to determine the winner.

Better yet, kick two teams out of the conference (I vote Baylor and ISU) and play everyone once with no championship game.

I'M NOT A TEXAS FAN AT ALL. BUT THEY GOT SCREWED LAST YEAR, OU NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THAT GAME. HEAD TO HEAD GAMES NEED TO STAND FOR SOMETHING!!!

all the head to heads make no difference in a 3 way tie. TTech beat UT....so why would they NOT be considered equally?

the good news is, we have a tie breaking system for such a circumstance. the problem is last year, all 3 teams were very good, they each beat each other...and lost to no one else. something has to give.

OU killed MU in the title game, so there you have it. they deserved to go to the BCS title game.

for the league, the key is to actually get 2 schools in the BCS games....we've been able to do that the last couple of years. big bucks for the league, for sure.
