College Station, Texas Kansas University swimmer Maria Mayrovich placed 19th in the preliminaries of the 100 yard freestyle Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Mayrovich touched the wall in a time of 48.51 seconds, just 0.06 seconds off of her career-best time. She also narrowly missed the finals by 0.09 seconds.
KU’s Erin Mertz placed 17th in the platform diving competition.
Mertz, an All-American on the one-meter board, scored 229.15 points, which was less than 10 points off of a season-best score.
