wow I would have put Ty Lawson before Hansbrough

keith horinek 10 years, 10 months ago

next year Collins and Aldridge could be legite first team all americans if they both come back.

Jacobpaul81 10 years, 10 months ago

No offense to our Jayhawks, but I agree with Itstyler, Lawson should be on there and I think he should be there before Collins. But if that's how they feel, more power to them.

Jacob, He said to relace Hansburough not Collins. I might agree with you, but I was just correcting the statement. They are close but I do not think there are many KU fans that would make the trade of Lawson for Collins!

Lawson and Hansbrough are both over-rated. See the 2008 national semi-final as exhibit A. I would take Collins and his grit over Lawson any day. They have similar styles but Collins is a winner. Lawson hasn't proven it yet.

Ty Lawson is one of the most over-rated players in the NCAA. There is no comparison between Sherron Collins and Ty Lawson. Sherron is a great scorer and play-maker. Lawson is a role player on a solid North Carolina team.

Ty Lawson is Aaron Miles with a little better jumpshot.

Purely subjective on my part, but how does Curry make 1st team when his team didn't even make the NCAA Tourney. All-Americans also lift their teams.

Adding to this year, however, you could have made a lot of money this year if you bet the package that KU would have an All-American, win the Big Twelve Title, win 25 games, not be beaten at home, end in the top 15 and get a #3 seed!!!!!

Great job team and staff.

I think we will handle NCST much easier than people think...thanks to the media, they are sure not sneaking up on us. West Virgina, different story. The game will be typical Thuggins ball....rough and push it to the limit. KU's young team better come dressed for WAR!!

Why is it so many people think Cole is ready for the NBA. He is NOT a lottery pick and it will not be in his best interest to leave school at this point. He will be back hopefully 20 lbs stronger and able to really dominate the post. Anyone who has followed his recent games can see he is still not the player he is going to become with time. Next year he could compete for player of the year and be a certain lottery pick with the money and guarantees that come with it. As for Sherron he will return and hopefully improve his defensive skills which he is going to need badly because of his size. Now that said they can prove me wrong but I doubt it.

A hearty congratulations to our floor general, Sherron Collins! I may be one of your toughest critics, but I'm still one of your biggest fans, too!

Jodie Meeks over Terrence Williams? Malarkey.

Cole loves college , be surprized if he leaves . how much fun will next years team be IF they come back. Final four , for sure # 1 seed , possible banner. How good can Sherron be with 2- 7 footers and 5 other strong post players! Sherron was huge part of last year Championship. would love to see him get 2! Sherron best guard in the country! fastest.strongest. please Sherron one more year and you will gain better ball control and jump right to starting job in NBA. probably to much to ask Sherron & whole TEAM best of luck with THIS year in the Tourney!

What a great honor for Collins, the Jayhawk program and Coach Bill Self. That is absolutely great! Congratulations. That is the boost we need to carry us to the final four.

Dean Smith once said, "people assume the players at North Carolina are All-Americans." He was right, but Hansborgh is deserving. Collins and Aldridge are shoe-ins next year.

At least someone half gets it about Sherronatron.

Of course, Stephen Curry is a much better than Sherron.

Afterall, Curry had to lead a team full of sophmores and freshman...oops, he didn't.

Well, Curry lead his team to a conference championship...oops, he didn't.

Well, regardless, Curry lead his team back to the Madness...oops, he didn't do that either.

Well, at least, Curry shot more and scored more...yep, he did.

njjayhawk,

Ty Lawson could carry Sherron's jock strap. Its just that it would many sizes too big for him.

I agree. Sherron is better than Lawson. Period.

Dirk Medema 10 years, 10 months ago

Good for Sherron. The next 3 weeks will determine whether he returns or not. If he can play well (20/5/5/<2TO/G) and lead the other young guys to several victories, it could be enough to spring him free. I hope he does most of that, but decides to return for his degree and the op to lead the more mature team with more options even further.

Hopefully, Cole Aldrich spends a bunch of time in the weightroom as well as the court learning some more post moves to the hoop, and how to feed his teammates out of double teams.

Nick Cole 10 years, 10 months ago

Last time I checked, there is not a KU player on the roster with the last name Aldridge. Just saying, if you are a KU fan, learn how to spell our players names. AND, it isn't even that you are misspelling Cole's last name, you are typing an entirely different last name. Aldridge is the not Cole's last name. Pleas learn what his name is ({cough oljhwk} {cough OakvilleJHawk }) and once you do, try to spell it correctly. It's called respect.

Itstyler 10 years, 10 months ago

Oh don't get me wrong I would never take Lawson over Collins any day, I'm just saying if your going to take someone from UNC take the one that isn't so overhyped and over rated!

How do you think Curry would play if he was on a powerhouse team like KU. Think he would be as good?

kansasYEA 10 years, 10 months ago

BleedCandB- what do you mean that they are not misspelling it? It's pretty obvious that's the mistake- Aldr-ich (the correct spelling) sounds an awful lot like Alrdr-idge, especially come out of some announcer's mouths. The fact that it's misspelled is why you picked up on it. Get over it.

bigjay83 10 years, 10 months ago

"AND, it isn't even that you are misspelling Cole's last name, you are typing an entirely different last name."

You don't need a comma after "and." You also need to either place a semicolon or a period between "last name" and "you are." Oh, it's also "players' names" not "players names." I'm pretty sure a person's name is a possessive.

I'm just saying if you are going to criticize such things on the comment boards, you should probably avoid grammatical errors.

It's called respectability.
