Back to 2009 NCAA Tournament coverage
Sunday, March 15, 2009
By J-W Staff Reports
Kansas will play North Dakota State at 11:30 a.m. Friday, the NCAA announced Sunday night.
If the Jayhawks advance to the second round, they would face West Virginia or Dayton at 1:30 or 4 p.m. Sunday.
Copy and paste the link:
Well...we won't have to wait long to see how our Hawks do. Rock Chalk!
11:30a didn't work for us well last week...hope this week goes better! GO JAYHAWKS!!
That means that we have to drive up Thursday afternoon instead and 1 more night in the motel 6 I guess. But at least we have West Virginia vs Dayton right after our game and we can root against Bob Huggins in person. 2nd Session has USC vs BC at 5:20pm and Michigan State at 8:50pm. Should be a fun day in Minneapolis.

How did you find out the times already?
One and Done.......You will have extra money coming your way as You won't need that 2nd night at the local flop house. Is Minneapolis in the United States or Canada?? Go Missouri Tigers.....give it up baby hawks this wasn't your year.
Maybe You can work your way back in the next 10 or 15 years....LOL.
But one thing for sure is Jay Hawks are a class act as I am sure replies to this post will show. Since your basketball program is going down the tubes you might want to change your chant to DBJ instead of RCJ.
codybear. I'm sure that being from misery you are familiar with being a class act (loser). As far as working our way back, I believe we won the BIG conference title this year. Sure, you backed your way into your first tournament title ever in the Big 12. And maybe someday you'll make it to the Final Four, if some relative of Tyus Edny isn't on the opposing team. Get lost, go post on some site that your cronies enjoy. You sir are a moron.
If I could shoot a nuke on one state it would be codybear and missery.
Screw you Missouri fans your style of play won't get you anywhere. Why don't you and Jack Harry suck my left nut!
my response to any mizzou fan like codybear is this: so u say this is mizzous year and supposedly an off year for ku, so even when mizzou is having their best season in ages they still aren't equal to ku in a year when they're having an "off year." so say whateve you want to help you sleep at night you little tigers but it won't change the fact that missery is and will alwys be owned by ku
I am actually embarrassed to post a response to a mizzou fan but here it is: congratulations, you won the "doesn't matter" tournament. You beat KU in columbia....whatever. We will see how far you make it in the real tournament.
kujayhawker said it nicely. KU's rebuilding year against MU's championship run still puts KU as the higher seed and closer to home. MU just loves Boise too. Nothing bad has ever happened to them there.
I mentioned this on the full KU article, but the potential matchup with Memphis in the Sweet 16 is about the worst case scenario for MU. Mike Anderson teams do really well in games where teams don't have much time to prepare for their system. See UAB beating Kentucky in the second round in 2004 and KU during Big Monday this year. But teams with equal or superior athletes, when given time to prepare for them, can usually put a good sized hurting on them. See KU in Sweet 16 2004 and on March 1 this year. John Calipari is very familiar with Anderson from their days in C-USA together while Anderson was at UAB. Give Calipari a week with the types of athletes we all know he has, it is about the worst team MU could draw.
The thing is, we don't have time to worry about MU as we have a team playing just 7 hours from home ready to tip off in 107 hours and 30 minutes. Bloody Mary's and Screwdrivers to start the day. Let's just hope our guys are a little more alert than from our last early start time just 84 hours and 30 minutes ago.
well, well. missery wins something that doesn't mean much and they're 1 fan decides to post on the LJW. how cute. if you're trying to get a rise out of Jayhawk nation you probably won't considering this "not our year" brought us a regular season league title. (and that whole April 7th thing last year...championship). if that's what our young Jayhawks did this year, what about next year when we have the same team plus some new young talent? maybe you should think before you speak... anyone worried about WVU? or seen much of them?

codybear (anonymous) says...
"th3e rotten 10"
1. Collins is make believe. (Kind of like you saying you are a KU fan)
2. Twins are on their team only. (This is the only comment that comes close to having any relevance, however their play down the stretch, especially that of Marcus, has much improved over time)
3. They do good against Div 2 only. (So you are saying Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Iowas St, Tennessee, etc are Div II schools now?)
4. Will not come close to winning Big 12. (Wrong)
5. There will be no NCAA invite. (Wrong again)
6., MU will beat them twice this year......like a drum baby! ( Third times a charm....Nope, still Wrong. KU gave away the first one. MU was flat out b*tch slapped in the second)
7. Texas and OU can barely wait for the easy victory against K.U. (And they can keep waiting)
8. Hang it up..........sell tics on E-Bay.
9. K-State take 2 W's against Hawks (Never going to happen)
10. Baby can U spell N.I.T.; only if you are lucky (Nostradamus you are not)
I have gone back and reviewed some of you posts on previous articles and you have stated that you are a die hard KU fan yet your earlier entry regarding this article contained the comment "Since your basketball program is going down the tubes you might want to change your chant to DBJ instead of RCJ." If this is the kind of fan that you are, then I say the KU faithful fan base, that does not insult their team based off of one or a few games, does not need you.
So in the words of Mario Van Peebles in Heartbreak Ridge, Don't go away mad, just go away!!!
NCAA Basketball Championships:

Ya. Need I say more? =)
codybear got what he wanted ... a lot of wasted energy responding to a moron.
When/How will we know what time Sunday game would be, if we take care of business Friday? Anyone know? Let me re-phrase... some of our illustrious, well-informed posters know the answer to this, if that's you, please share...thanks.
We would play Sunday at 1:30pm.
awesome, thanks Mutt. Now I can maybe plan my work schedule accordingly... if that's not a jinx.
