Kansas University sophomore Tony Thompson was named a second-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
The All-America honor is the fourth collected by the KU third baseman, who was also selected to All-America teams by Louisville Slugger, the National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association and Ping! Baseball.
These awards continue a busy offseason for Thompson, the likely winner of the Big 12 Conference Triple Crown (.389 average, 21 home runs, 82 RBIs). He is trying out for the U.S. National Team in Cary, N.C., this week.
The competition wraps up Saturday.
